In particular, we are aiming at practices that do not exclusively apply to ethnic minorities; foreigners or the “culturally different” but rather create intercultural links between individuals and groups, introduce awareness of cultural diversity to a wide range of areas and fields of activity and further the dialogue within these fields. In this sense our project is an effort to contribute to the mainstreaming of intercultural dialogue, reflecting our recognition that cultural diversity and interculturality is not only relevant to specific groups, but concerns society as a whole.

Please visit ourblog for further details

Partners

CLAVIS sprog & kompetence

EOI Oviedo

Eurocircle

Margvis

Masereelfonds

MHTConsult LTD

How to participate

If you are interested in participating in the project, learning about our toolkit please contact Cecile Stola the coordinator of the project cecilestola(at)elaninterculturel.com

Relevant links

Grundtvig Sub-programme

Lifelong Learning Programme

National LLP Agencies

Woman in the modern world

Grundtvig Learning Partnership 2010-2012

The aim of the project is to support comprehensive development of contemporary women, increase awareness and knowledge of any problems that may concern women regarding their roles in private and public life. The project aims also at increasing the need to educate women and men about the influence of education, society and media on woman s life path and on perception and attribution of gender roles.

Our role in the project

As usual we keep our focus on cross-cultural dynamics and the consequences of international mobility.

Globalisation and international mobility are phenomena closely connected with modernity. Our primary contribution to the project is to show how transnational mobility affects women's lives. Also we intend to learn from the partners about different practices aiming at the personal development of women with a view to adapt them for the benefit of our local target group.
for more details

ARIADNE - Art for Intercultural Adaptation in New Environments

Grundtvig Multilateral Project 2011-2012

There are 69.8 million estimated international migrants in Europe today, amounting to 9.5 per cent of the population. While their paths and experiences differ greatly, there are some common challenges in the adaptation process: it is learning period as intense as in one s childhood, but without the usual support resources (e.g. social capital) and in a situation where increased stress and uncertainty motivates rather for closure than for opening. People will try different strategies of acculturation mixing assimilation and segregation, also depending on the capacity and habits of the host society to receive newcomers. The popularity of extreme right-wing doctrines in many European countries testifies that host populations also face a challenging learning path.

Engaging in art has been shown to facilitate the processes of social inclusion and intercultural collaboration. Furthermore by enhancing the mechanism of creativity it facilitates the mobilization of personal resources necessary for the adjustment process.

Our project aims at exploring and further developing art inspired methodologies capable of enhancing the adaptation of newly arriving immigrants
for more details

Copyright © 2009 élan interculturel www.elaninterculturel.com All rights reserved.
Logo par SIGN*A*RAMA - Issy Les Moulineaux.
